Projek Titian Puisi diteruskan lagi hari ini di kediaman rasmi Menteri Hal Ehwal Ugama Pehin Dato Seri Setia Utama Dr Ustaz Haji Md Zain Haji Serudin yang dikenali dengan nama pena Shukri Zain. Antara yang hadir ke majlis hari ini ialah Menteri Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan, Pehin Dato Seri Pahlawan Mejar (B) Haji Mohammad Haji Daud dan Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan, Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman bersama Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Hal Ehwal Agama dan Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Hal Ehwal Agama. Majlis dimulakan dengan ucapan alu-aluan yang disampaikan Ketua II Angkatan Sasterawan dan Sasterawani (Asterawani) Brunei Darussalam yang kemudiannya diteruskan dengan puisi penyambut Salam oleh Pehin Dato Seri Setia Utama Dr Ustaz Haji Md Zain. Bureau plays vital role in spreading language, literature.

The Language and Literature Bureau plays an important role to produce new and young writers who will be able to assist and support as well as implement roles and responsibilities of the bureau in collectively spreading the Malay language and literature widely. In this regard, the bureau, through its Publication Planning Section, is currently conducting a workshop on Children Novel Writing, to help writers channel their work that is relevant. Facilitated by Mohd Zefri Ariff, the four-day workshop, which began yesterday at the Balai Sarmayuda of the bureau, aimed to produce talented new and young writers in the children literature genre and guide them to producing a quality children's novel. The workshop also introduced techniques of writing children's novel; introduce and draw children's interest to read and appreciate the message in the novel; and to provide an understanding of the process of publication. ASEAN book publishers hold AGM in Singapore.

The Director of Language and Literature Bureau (DBP), Dr Mataim Bakar, who is also the Vice-President of Asean Book Publishers Association (ABPA) and the chairman of Brunei Book Publishers National Council (JKKPBNBD), attended the 4th annual general meeting (AGM) of ABPA in Singapore recently. He was accompanied by an officer from DBP, Dyg Hjh Siti Zaleha Hj Kaprawi, who is also the secretary of JKKPBNBD. The two officers attended the opening ceremony of the 23rd World Book Fair 2008 at Suntec; the Singapore Book Industry Seminar entitled "From Book to Bestseller: Writing, Publishing and Marketing your Work"; and the launching of the ABPA website. The 23rd World Book Fair 2008 was officially opened by Singapore's Minister of Information, Communications and Arts, Dr Lee Boon Yang, who spoke highly on the future of the book publishing industry.
